Seems to me that NCL handled the situation in a fair manner. Maybe not everything was done perfectly, but the couple made it home safe and sound. I don't think that much more could have been done.

In my opinion, two 79 year old cruisers, one obviously ill, are not looking for 15 minutes. I think NCL, and, any cruise line wants to dot every I,and cross every T, in these difficult circumstances, and, I have to believe, went by the book.
Lack of communication & understanding, I believe, is at issue. Whatever went awry here, I can certainly feel compassion for this couple, as it must have been a frightening situation, no matter how much help was given. They had insurance, how did this not get factored in getting them home, this was not clear.

Looks to me like someone's trying to get their 15 seconds of fame. Either that, or some credit on another cruise.
I doubt it. I do think NCL did their part, but I figure the man was sick and not in any shape to pay attention at the time. The woman was scared and not paying attention, either. It's incorrect to be pointing the finger at NCL but I think it's more out of confusion and lack of understanding than wanting attention.
