Question Cruise to Philippines?

Was wondering if any of the cruise lines go to the Philippines. I see a lot of Asian cruises but none that stop in the Philippines. As this use to be an American port island was wondering why I never see cruise ships going there.
There also seem to be a lot of the on ship employees from that area.
Thanks for any information.

I was just in Manilla on Regent Seven Seas Voyager this past March. We overnighted in port. First day, went to Correigidor for a fantastic tour. Second day went to Mall of Asia to get a $3 haircut and to do a little shopping. I know Regent always stops in Manilla when ships are in that area of the Pacific because it is a great day to let familys of the crew onboard. One year, they even donated all the mattresses that had been swapped out to familys to carry off.

The days when passenger ships had certain destinations when they left the U.S. are over. now, if you want to cruise to the Phillipines you probably have to start in Asia or the Pacific rim.

I just saw an old book in San Diego about an ocean liner that used to offer regular service to Hawaii. Just 50 years ago that was the only way to get there - there were no flights. My, how quickly things change.

Thanks Paul ...I would prefer to travel by ship, train or car before flying.
Not that flying bothers me I just like to see the countryside and take my time.
