Default Cruise Ship Canyon - Love it, Hate it

You have just docked at lo and behold you are next to another ship. Shadows are cast and lines criss cross the pier. Is it "cool beans" for you, or "ugh they are blocking my view, and dumping more 'tourists' in my port of call"?

It was much more common years ago to be the only ship in port. I think if one does not have the Oasis or the Allure with you in a port, it should be considered a good day, since when they pull up beside you, you know about 4,000 more people will be with you shoulder to shoulder in the jewelry store or that excursion you waited years to do. I think that picture of yours is a great shot. I don't mind it at all.

It actually doesn't bother me at all, in most cases, you too are off the ship. If on Allure or Oasis, chances are you are higher up anyway, so the ship next to you doesn't block much.

I like it!

Since I am cruising, I like to see something that you definetely won't see at home.

I always enjoy waving and gesturing to the folks on the other ship. GREAT FUN, IMO.

WE had some fun watching one of the Disney ships in port that had the water tube that wrapped around the ship. You could see where they started, then went around the rear and back out again. Sure looked like fun...

In a way the question is "are ports getting too crowded?"

I have been in some ports where I definitely thought "this is ridiculous," but not that often.

I remember being in Grand Cayman one time when it was like Time Square - could barely walk on the sidewalk.

Anymore I stay on the ship in the Caribbean - the ships have so much more to offer these days why get off - unless you've never been there and want to see it.

There is also the old adage "safety in numbers " .I rather have a lot of vacationers in an area that I might decide to wander off into .
