I saw on tv yesterday, that Mariah Carey was the Godmother of the new Disney Fantasy, & my first thought was, did she ever cruise? I wonder if anyone honored with the title, ever cruised before they were asked? They also announced, Cat Cora a well known chef, as Godmother of the Riviera, Oceania's newest ship.
I wonder how they decide this...popularity, philanthropists, pop culture? On the Carnival Magic last year, Lindsey Wilkerson, who was a patient at St. Judes, was the GM. Carnival is a big supporter of this cause, and, she and her family enjoyed the entire cruise. I loved this connection and her honor.
Here are some Godmothers...some sports stars, celebrities, some regular people, royals, and, politicians. Some good choices. Any comments? This is but a blip on the radar, I know, but, when I saw Mariah, I thought ??.....

I was just reading Paul's post about the cermony with Mariah Cary as the godmother. According to him, she has cruises Disney quite a few times and may be one of the reason she was picked to be the Godmother of this new ship.
