We are booked!

Renée got a flash fax fare that was too good to turn down! We put down a deposit right away.

We are booked on HAL Rotterdam Sept. 15, sailing from Rotterdam to Portugal and Spain! These are places that are on our bucket list and we are very excited.

Sounds fantastic..late summer cruising to great ports!

Plenty of that easy-going Spanish/Portugese lifestyle - dinner at 10:00.

You can see a lot of beautiful Moorish buildings at Almeria.

And Barcelona is more interesting than ever IMHO.

Enjoy that cruise!

If there is an excursion to Alhambra, in Grananda, I strongly suggest taking it. It is a bit of a ride but the Moor palace is beautiful and interesting.

It is a great itinerary and I hope you enjoy it.

Take care,
Mike

Great itinerary, we looked at that one but it's about a week too late for our flight home.

Mike,
Congats, sounds like a great cruise, glad it fit into your schedule.

Starting to do my research -- and I ran across a hammam in Almeria which is in one of those old Moorish buildings, but newly renovated inside. I think we will plan on the two hour treatment there!

This is fun -- I love doing the research.

Can't wait to meet the apes on Gibraltar!

Haimia May 7th, 2012 11:27 AM

Watch those apes on Gibraltar!!!! No eating outside! No plastic wrappers in your pocket!! I saw a small child with a wrapper get swarmed by one of these apes. They associate wrappers with food and will take it without any hesitation. Just watch the apes, don't try to touch as they can bite.

Indeed that is what I have heard.

We are checking into booking with a taxi driver who gets great reviews for protecting his passengers!

But -- the apes are one of those things that we have to do ... once in a lifetime!

Haimia May 7th, 2012 12:40 PM

They are fun to watch - they groom each other and protect/care for the babies. Highlight the "protect" part, too! They are EVERYWHERE on the rock.
