Talking We are booked!

Well, we don't usually book THIS far ahead. But I found this one while poking around and the price is too good to pass up booking early!

In September 2013 will board the Diamond Princess in Vancouver and do the last cruise of the season to Anchorage. THEN she continues six days across the Pacific crossing the Date Line to visit Japan, Korea, Valdisvostok, and China ending in Beijing.

This is one we are eagerly anticipating!!

I keep looking at that one, every year! We can get some pretty great deals on that route locally. One of these days I'm going to book it. Enjoy.

Mike, great itinerary. You might get some rough seas on the crossing but otherwise a fantastic itin. If you need any info on stops in Japan and China, we have a lot of resources.

You might want to look at trip reports for the same Princess crossing in fall 2007.

Not funny; and very old. In Japan, you will find wonderful sites, interesting food, and very courteous people. You will not worry for your safety at any time. There will always be people to help you if you are in need of help. You will see the most beautiful temples and the most outrageously attired girls. It is definitely an interesting culture and an interesting country.

Well, actually it IS funny, if not quite Politically Correct ...

Our local farmers ship a lot of tomatoes to Japan. They are picked green and hard and ripened by pumping gas into the hold while they sail to Japan.

One of my friends works at a local ag machinery business which ships both finished machines and spare parts to Japan, as well as Saudi Arabia and many other international destinations.

But very few tourist trinkets ... all the tiny leather camels in Morocco were stamped MADE IN JAPAN not MADE IN USA ...

Default princess cruise

Hi, I am planning that cruise for 2014. I found the cost of a flight back home from Beijing expensive. Did you find the same?

Well, flights are so tricky.

We aren't able to book it yet, so we can't lock in a price.

However my DW (who is our TA too) is finding some very reasonable prices in the $800 range now ... hope we can find that when comes time to book.

It is always a crap shoot.
