In another post it was mentioned that Port Everglades was not the best port to embark on a cruise. What is your most favorite, and least favorite port to sail from, and why?

OK - it was me.
Everyone's criteria is different
I always pre or post cruise - sometimes I have done both. I fly-cruise which does not bother me at all - I do live in a very small country in NW Europe.
So I am looking for an interesting city combined with easy embarkation/disembarkation.
Port Everglades is my least favourite; I actually prefer Miami (both the city and airport are better IMO). BTW I had no issues in Port Everglades at all - I just don't like the city - no real centre for me
My favourite port probably has to be Istanbul - fascinating city - never too many ships in port when I was there. City and port very close.
Venice - I have visited many times - love the place - I have yet to sail in or out of Venice - one day.
Annie
PS My internal flight to FLL was the most horrific of any flight I have taken anywhere in the world including Africa and India.

My favorite by far is Venice. I love watching the ships cruise down the grande canal.
My least favorite is Bahamas. Too many street vendors for me and not clean at all.
Annie, I agree....what's good for one, is a pia to another. The last time I was in Miami, which is humongous, I had to wait forever[ hrs] to get a wheelchair to be taken to my gate. just before it came, I was just about to get there on my own speed. Forget it, if I had started to walk, I'd still be walking. For me, Fll, is so much easier to get around. No trams either!!
My own home port of Boston is a tough one too..just trying to drop off passengers is unreal...One car at a time is allowed to drop off, so the line is very long.

It used to be Port Everglades but it's been MANY years since I've cruised out of there.
I would have to say that one of the most beautiful was Venice.
Southampton is a bit of pain because of the long coach ride but I will have to say the worst in years was Long Beach. It was under renovation and was not easy to navigate and we were almost lynched because we had to cut through the regular line to get to the VIP boarding area.
Take care,
Mike

Favorite is Hong Kong but Venice and Monte Carlo are nice too.
Least is Edmonton as there is not a lot to see on the North Saskatchewan River down river from Edmonton.

I don't think I've encountered a really bad one yet...Venice, sigh, spectacular and as Kamloops said coming in and out of our home port is pretty sweet. I guess if I had to pick one. San Francisco is pretty disorganized.
