While approximately one third of Americans have now tried at least one cruise, that still means the vast majority of Americans have no idea about the real cruise experience. What if I told you there are many things that you probably never expected to find on a cruise - things that are so good you are likely to tell your friends and family, "If I had known how great it is, I would have started cruising a long, long time ago?"

That is the truth; that statistically most people who take their first cruise end up saying the experience offered far more than they ever expected. But this brings forth the somewhat illogical question from those who have not yet tried a cruise, "What surprises should I expect?" I'm going to tell you.

My biggest surprise has been the past guests' party!

Those are a good five and I was surprised about all of them on my first cruise.

One of the big surprises for me was the level of customer service. Paul speaks to this about the room service and the stewards. I found the cs to be outstanding ship wide. It really makes you feel like you are being pampered.

My biggest surprise was the quality of the food! Seemed like every item I tasted was divine.

One you left out was "So many things to do aboard the ship" Something is always going on. The first 2 cruises we tried to do everything and were exhausted after the cruise. We did learn to slow down and enjoy just sitting on a balcony and reading, taking long romantic walks with the DW and enjoying a the hot tub in the evening while everyone else was taking in a show.
