60 Minutes did a piece on it last night. I was happy to see it was not a "hit piece" at all, just a factual piece on the challenges of re-floating a cruise ship.
Someone said to me "I think January will be bad for cruising because it's the anniversary of Concordia." I actually don't see why any newspapers would really even need to bring it up just because its a year old. Everything has an anniversary, but it wasn't 9/11.
I am the editor, but I also speculate, ask questions and play devil's advocate. I reserve the right to change my mind.
I have viewed the webcam sites. The Final Salute, when it closed, my son gave me another, but, with the time changes, it was always dark for me when I checked. It will be interesting to see the workings of how this will be done, on this site. The picture I posted here a week or so ago, of a few sunbathing on the rocks within a stones throw of the ship, will probably not be repeated, once the hulk is removed. I am sure the island will be happy to get back to normal. Less $ in their coffers though, with lookie loos not stopping by.
I do think we will be reading about the ship's anniversary, but, don't think people gave this a thought, when they booked their January cruises.
Trip, with her book & tea!
