Here is something we don't see often, a video of a man being medivaced off a cruise ship.. John Heald had mentioned it in his blig, here is the scary visual.
Pretty wild. It struck me to notice the ship eas still moving, check the waves. I suppose that was necessary to maintain it position and minimize roll.

Wow, that was amazing and scary....You hear of this happening from time to time, but to see it from the helicopter.....No wonder the cost of this is so high.. Just another reminder, to get that travel insurance....
We've actually seen this in person on three occasions; one was a heart attack, another was some type of major intestinal problem, and one was compound fracture of a leg.
These Coast Guard guys are amazing! What struck us as incredible was that when we looked at the helicopter, it looked like it was just hovering and we were dead in the water as the helicopter maintained perfect positioning without moving an inch forward or backward. But when we looked over the side, we could see that we were moving about 12 to 14 knots.
Their skills are incredible and makes one feel great to watch them in action. They definitely do not get the credit they deserve, that's for sure.

Kudo's to the Coast Guard.. !! Being evacuated in port as we were, was hard enough..imagine if I was left on deck, waving to Bruce as he was pulled into a copter...oh my!
