Default Royal Caribbean beds vs Princess

Hi everyone,
I have always cruised Princess, but am going to try Royal Caribbean Vision of the Seas in June. I love Princess except one thing: we find their beds to be terribly uncomfortable, even with an egg crate. Has anyone cruised both lines and can give me a lowdown about the bed situation. Hubby and I both have arthritis, which doesn't help the situation. But Princess' beds are HARD. How does Royal Caribbean compare? Also how does the food compare. Anything else you want to compare would be great.
Thank you!

Depends on the ship and the last time it was refurbished or the beds have been changed out. Our last cruise on the Grandeur, which had just been completely renovated, except for the beds, we had a bed that was completely concaved, it was so used. And you're right, even the egg crate did absolutely no good. But we've sailed on several Princess and many RCCL ships, and have found them to be overall very comparable, which is why we much prefer Holland America beds.

I absolutely love the food on Princess, while Royal can be good as well, just not quite as good, but their entertainment is the best over Princess...The ships seem more lively, especially in the evening over Princess....Have a great time.

Having been on The Vision of the Seas not that long ago, the beds are of the same high standard as the Oasis and newer ships. They are very comfortable and I sleep better than at home in my own bed. The bed grade is about a 3, 1 being so soft your bum hits the floor and 5 being so hard its like a table.
Alot of the things both cruise lines do are the same, but there are little differences between the lines, the choice is yours. I prefer RCCL for the ship and entertainment.

Princess, hands down! Our cruise on the Independence of the Seas has the worst bed we have slept on on a cruise!
