We will be arriving at Singapore at the end of March 2011 aboard the HAL Volendam. The ship docks at 2:00 PM and we have an overnight onboard, then we are staying one night before flying home.
I am interested in taking pictures and have decided to visit the botanical gdns, after disembarking the ship on day two. I am however looking for suggestions as to what to do on our arrival date. With it docking at 2:00 PM I don't see us having a great deal of daylight hours to explore that day. Can anyone suggest things to do fairly close to the ship. Maybe a nice marina area, or qauint streets, or ......
Yes you are right Marc. Singapore is one of the most beautiful cities of around the world. It has all the attractions to attract everyone. Everyone will enjoy visiting there. Hope I too will get a chance to visit Singapore.
I agree Sigapore is one of the most beautiful country in Asia and it has many attractive and beautiful places and has a well developed tourism industry. Shopping area is located in the district of Orchard Road and have several shopping centers, this area also has many hotels, and is considered by many as the tourism center of Singapore.
I am going to be doing dry dock in Singapore for 5 weeks from October to early November. To anyone that has been, or has had dry dock there, are there any recommendations of things to do or see. I would muchly appreciate it... as dry dock can be long and boring, but the plus side is we get to explore and stay in one place!!!!
The night safari tour (at the zoo) is a must! Hyenas up close are really scary. The botanical gardens are worth more than one visit, especially the orchid garden which also has a very good--and well priced--gift shop. Do be a tourist and splurge on a Singapore Sling at Raffles. Or have tea at Raffles; it is superb.
Can you tell I love Singapore? Its only drawback is equatorial weather.
