Default Victory stop at San Juan

I am scheduled to cruise on the Carnival Victory in March, and notice that it arrives at San Juan at 6:00PM and departs that night at 2:00 AM. This seems a bit unusual, since it doesn't really give time to tour the island. Does Carnival offer tours when the ship arrives so late, or are we on our own?

Additionally, does anyone know of any fun spots in San Juan?

Paul

Seems quite a few ships come into SanJuan late in the afternoon. We did this on Destiny as well. The ship does offer tours, but Old SanJuan is so close, I don't think I'd bother with any tours there.
U can walk the few blocks to Old SanJuan, and stroll around, and you'll see that's where many of the ships tour buses are.
If u want to see a bit of the night life, grab a taxi and head over to the El SanJuan Hotel. The disco and lobby bar there are hopping!
Regards,
Kuki

The El San Juan also has a casino if you're into games of chance. So do many of the other hotels in the Isla Verde and Condado Beach areas, as well as the Wyndham Old San Juan.

If I had such short a time in San Juan, I'd stick to the shops, restaurants and historical buildings in Old San Juan and skip the beach areas. The ships dock right in Old San Juan and if you get tired of walking, there's a free trolley that circuits the area. I'm not sure how late it runs, however.

You might enjoy walking up to the beautiful fort, El Morro. The views won't be as spectacular at night, but it's a pretty place.
