Does anyone know what the cost of this is and whether it's worth it?

Any advice or comments are appreciated.

If the course gets you a certification card and if the course is around 400.00 with all equipment provided, and if it is something you have always wanted to do, there would be no better place to learn than on a cruise. Hopefully, you have a PADI instructor. I beleive they are the best. Usually if you don't like it after the first few lessons in the pool, they will reimburse you. Ask before you sign up. I had to do my open water dives in a lake in New York in November. The water was 46 degrees and it was difficult. The warm carribean clear waters would be perfect for learning. You need to do 4 open water dives fora a PADI certification. Check out PADI.com for more info.
