Stupid Question

Will be married the day prior to our cruise. Should cruise documents be in my wifes new married name or will that cause problems due to passport and IDs not reflecting the new name?

Doug,
It shouldn't be a problem provided you have all the marrage documents. In all honesty it would probably be best to just let the documents stay in your new wifes original name. Less confusion that way.

Re: Stupid Question

technically, your license isn't filed at the local court house until a couple of days later by the priest, etc. it has to be certified by them...then you have to get a copy of the certified marriage license before she can change her name.

Re: Stupid Question

Its easiest, although maybe lsess romantic, to book her under her maiden name. All of her ID will still carry that name and it will be less confusing.

If you wnat to go ahead and use the married name then you should travel with your marriage license to show the legal name change.

Congratulations to you both and good luck in your future together. And have a great honeymoon!!

Do yourselves a favor. Go with her maiden name!
