Default Insurance

Does any one know of an travel insurance company that does include preexisting medical conditions? My mother-in -law is 83 years old and her health has not been very good for a few years. Does anyone have any suggestion for insurance?

Pre-existing conditions are covered if you buy the insurance within 15 days of purchasing the cruise, according to what I
read in my cruise care policy with RCCL & others I looked at on the web.

Travel Guard and CSA require that you purchase insurance SEVEN days after you make your deposit.

If you use Travel Guard Insurance and you book it within two weeks of booking your cruise, all pre-existing conditions will be covered. I have diabetes and although I'm stable and controlled I take no chances. I use Travel Guard.

I told my travel agent I wanted trip insurance, because my mom is 82 & not in good health. They took out $99 each Cruise Care - royal Caribbean's insurance. When I got my documents, after reading the fine print, I see that pre-existing conditions are NOT covered, which was the reason I wanted it!

As I understand it, the pre-existing conditions apply to the people who are insured, not family members who are staying home. Maybe I am not understanding your question, but are you worried that your mother might become sick and you might have to cancel the cruise to stay with her?

Yes, that is the question. I was reading that the trip cancellation part of the insurance includes preexisting medical conditions for family member. Maybe I am reading to much in to it.
