there have been rumors going around regarding various airlines going on strike this spring. I am sailing on the Ocean princess, April 8, and wanted to know what happens if they airline we pick is on strike by then. Is Princess responsible? other message boards that i have read, say no their not. We did the air deviation, so we picked the times we wanted to leave. i asked my TA and he said that its up to Princess. any input would be appreciated!
Princess is not responsible in any event and your trip documents will state as such. This is another good illustration as to why trip interruption insurance is vital. However you need to buy this immediately. After the union authorizes a strike its too late. Travel Guard, which I assume is typical, will cover you unless the strike is "forseeable". They define "forseeable" as when the union members authorize a strike, which can precede a strike. It may seem to be a waste to spend a couple of hundred dollars on insurance, but if the unthinkable happens it can be a blessing worth many times its cost.
