Rental Car dropoff

If we rent a car at the airport for use while staying in Miami precruise is there an option to drop it off at the pier? Do we have to return to the airport? Any advice?

Avis lets you pick up at the airport and drop off at the pier. I did this in March and it was truly hassle-free. -- Jo

Ditto to what Jo said. I called Enterprise and they charge an extra $50.00 to drop off at the pier. I did not see any other company offices at the pier, just Avis and they were not that easy to find (under the bridge). They will shuttle you to your ship after drop off.

I was planning on staying at the Marriot Biscayne Bay- Should I consider a south beach property or should I just visit the art deco district by car?

If you value your sleep, just visit. South Beach parties until dawn. Many of the night clubs close after 7:00AM - after they serve breakfast. Finding a parking spot will be very hard though. these properties were built for working class families back in the '30's and 40's and they used public transportation. There is only one public garage I know of in South Beach. May of the upscale propeerties have valet parking though.
