Default travel documents

We will be going on an Alaska cruise in Aug. doing the Vancouver roundtrip. My husband is a Canadian citizen but has a US green card (alien registration card). Does he need a Canadian passport or will the the green card be enough?

drewsmama;
I would suggest that your husband bring both his green card and Canadian passport with him. His Green Card shows that he is a legal resident of the U.S. but he is a Canadian citizen. If he carries both of these documents I don't think he will have a problem getting in to Canada or back to the U.S.

Take Care;
Mike

Hi ...

Always take ALL forms of international ID with you as well as a photo ID. You never know when an Immigration official will be having a bad day.

Also, take photocopies of your passport/green card/whatever with you in a different location than the originals but close at hand. Not in checked luggage.

How weird can it get? A few weeks back I wanted to change $100 of U$ into Portugese escudos in the Azores. I went to a bank.

Where was my passport?

The cruise line has it.

Don't you have a dirver's license?

I didn't plan on renting a car. It's on the ship. I just want ESCUDOS.

A friend was with me. He didn't have a passport or a driver's license either. He did, however, have a credit card WITH A PHOTO. They turned him down, too.

If my brains were working, I would have had my photocopies in my tote bag.

Don't play games with these guys. They have the power.

pamda
