My wife and I have sailed 15 times since 1991. When we book a new cruise, we start counting the days till the moment we fly to Florida and board the megaship.
As RLStevenson said, "An anticipation is a joy forever." And do we look forward to a great getaway! Each time we board, it is as if it is our first time.
We have found the service to be consistently outstanding, from the room steward to the butler to the waiters, to the servers, etc.
The one disappointing area seems to be in the entertainment. While the ship's dancers work very hard, some are not as talented as we would like, but we still give them credit for a decent offering.
Headliners are getting more rare aboard ships, whether we are on Princess (our favorite), RCL, Celebrity, CCL, or Holland America.
Cruise Directors vary widely, from the very noticeable among the passengers all day long, the ones with a gift for comedy, the friendly ones, to those few who seem to hide all day and come out only to introduce the staff and officers. They are giving cruising a low mark for hospitality.
