Anne, this is for you. I believe you have sailed Star Clipper and like the line a lot. My daughter and I want to sail the Royal Clipper in Europe in 2003. It looks incredible, the largest sailing vessel EVER built in the history of the world. Can you tell us anything about Star Clipper. So far, the only thing I know is that I was impressed how fast they got their brochure to me after I asked for it.
Hi Pamda. Actually I was on Star Clipper for an evening. My then travel agent had no interest in seeing her so she gave me her invitation. It was gorgeous, being under sail like that. The cabins were miniscule unless you got the really expensive ones. They look a little bigger on the Royal. Royal has crow's nests just for passengers. They strap you into a safety harness and up you go. there are settees in them so you can be comfortable and have a bird's eye view of the sea. We were on Windstar in Tahiti many years ago when it still sailed there and it left a LOT to be desired although the ship itself was gorgeous.
I've seen the cabins Pam and when I say tiny, I mean VERY tiny. Most of them are yacht cabins. the only ones I've ever seen are on Star Clipper since I had a chance to use my then travel agent's invitation and I was really impressed. Most of them on Royal Clipper look bigger though.
