When you book a 2 day pre-cruise through the cruise line, do you also pay a deviation fee for your flights or is it included? Do you get to find out which flights you will fly on then or do you have to wait until your doc's arrive? Cruise Line = Celebrity
Thanks Diana, Do you also get the "best" flights or it is still pot luck whatever the cruise line can get for you? I am trying to help a 1st. time cruiser. Her airport of departure is a gateway city (my hometown area), but most flights will have a change.
Thanks Donna and Kuki, Exactly my point but my friend did not pay what you and I know as a flat deviation fee (extra $100pp) but purchased the 2 night pre-hotel including air through the cruise line. Well to make a long story short, we have been communicating and I just found out that I happen to personally know her agent very well from a previous employment situation. I am not a TA and he was a President of another division of my company. He is even in another state than where we live but it is a small world. She chose his firm from another friends recommendation. I know he will take care that she gets the best arrangements.
I am still anxiously awaiting information on Hawaii 2002. I picked up a brochure yesterday.
Hope it all turns out OK. I know when I did a pre-cruise last year, I too had to pay the extra $35 each, but I was able to pick the airline and the flights too. When ever you go do a pre or post, that incurs a deviation, so therefore the charge. I know it seems if you are doing their package, that it should be part of it. Its funny how most cruisers have no idea they can even do a deviation, some travel agents don't even mention it, so its a great help with all these cruise message boards, makes us all that more of a smart traveler :-)
