Default Mariner promotion changes

We are booked on Mariner on 12/9 in G class. I just got a notice that they are now offering one class upgrades on all D-H classes for new bookings as of 9/7 (same rates as I have). Does this mean that I have to cancel my booking or is there a way to get Radisson to give me the upgrade as well? Thanks.

My TA was told that If I want to take advantage of the promotion, it would cost me $100 cancellation fee pp.
It is a shame to be penalized for booking early. I have always booked a couple of weeks ahead of time before and have been upgraded and received great deals. I will never book ahead again.
