Default no cabin assigned

Does anyone know what happens if you don't have an assigned cabin? I got my documents, and it says cabin TBA, my sail date is in 2 weeks. My travel agent said she would keep calling Carnival to get my cabin assignment, but they haven't got one yet.

Generally, what does it mean if they are waiting till the last minute to assign it?

Jeanie

Hi, you will most likely be assigned upon check-in at the port. TBA "to be assigned" gives you the possibility of an upgrade. I just sailed the Fascination on 8/24 and had a TBA, but called Carnival 2 days before sailing and got my cabin number. They are hesitant to give it out in the event they have to make last minute switching per the Carnival rep. I spoke with. We had two cabins booked one got upgraded the other did not, but we were both on the Upper Deck and very satisfied with our cabins. Good Luck!

Jeanie..
The rumor goes... the closer to sailing without a cabin assignment on a guarantee, the better the chances of an upgrade.
U'll have to let us know if it plays out that way for u.

If u still don't have it at check in, when u check your bags with the porters tell them. They should have a copy of a manifest, and be able to tell u your cabin # before u get to the check in desk.

Regards,
Kuki

Btw, personally I wouldn't do a guarantee with Carnival again...going from a 4A to a 4C wasn't much of an upgrade! I would rather know ahead of time on my next cruise what my cabin number is. We had a 1A and 4C both on the Upper Deck...they were fine, but was like "pulling teeth" to get our assignments before leaving home. We wanted to make sure we were going to be close enough together. Hope you get a GREAT upgrade? Let us know!!!
