Hi there....I am wondering if anyone has a list of prohibited items....in light of recent events, I have heard that many items, formerly thought to be innocent, are being confiscated at airports. Does anyone have such a list??? I just don't want to take something that somebody would find objectionable. For example: tweezers, razor, Bic lighter???
What's going on with this ???
Here is a list I took off an airline's webpage. It doesn't answer all your questions like the lighter and for me, spray net and make up bottles (glass can be broken), but does answer most questions. Allowed: nail clippers, safety razors, including disposables, tweezers, eyelash curlers, canes, umbrellas, syringes with a letter from an MD. Restricted: knives of any kind, cutting instruments of any kind and composition, corkscrews, baseball or softball bats, golf clubs, pool cues, ski poles, hockey sticks. I'd call your airline to ask about Bic lighters and any other items you might want to carry onboard.
Also, to keep up to the minute, if you are flying to your port, check your airlines web page. That is where I found a detailed synopsis of what US Air allows and which airports are allowing curbside baggage check in and the number of carry-on's allowed. Even though nail clippers and razors are not allowed in a carry-on, they are allowed in your checked luggage. Just remember, the less you carry on the quicker you will clear security.
Thanks so much to you both....very sound advice...I'm flying America West, and unless I'm absolute dummy, *which is always possible*, I can't find the list on their website...maybe I'll use the one at US Airways as a guide...thanks again!
