Hi, I think this is hopeless but I am desperately trying to get to England before the holidays. I am afraid to fly, nothing to do with the terrorism thing, just have always been afraid of planes. Decided sea travel was my only recourse but seems there are no crossings eastbound until spring. Does anyone know of any vessel repostionings or the like. I would be willing to sleep in the engine room and kill rats too. Any help appreciated. Thanks
Mary
There is a company in London, Strand Travel, which specialises in passenger voyages on cargo ships. A friend of mine took a cargo ship voyage through the Baltic with Strand Travel a couple of years ago and loved it. He said the accommodation and food were much better than he had expected.
I believe they have ships regularly departing from Montreal - the website will tell you more, but would it be feasible for you to get to Montreal to join a ship?
I hope you are able to find a ship to make your journey.
Moneypenny,
Thanks for the interesting suggestion. Montreal is quite a jaunt from Philadelphia but it is certainly worth a look. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. I really do appreciate it.

Hi, Cunard has a 7 day from NY to UK. I think departure is around 11/26-12/4.
I have some extra time before I need to be in U.K. for 6 months and crossing would be more fun than flying.
Thanks,
Elizabeth
