Books

Hello All,
Does anyone have a suggestion of good books to purchase relating to cruises? ie. The one being featured on Cruismates? I'm always looking for a good read. Thanks

I haven't looked where you are talking about but I would highly recommend "Cruise Control" by Cruisemates' own Pamda. It is an informative and delightful read for a cruiser of any experience level.

I have found it very valuable as I am preparing to leave on my first cruise in ten years this coming Sunday.

Re: Books

Here is another book that is worth reading.
It is written by the Captains wife of the Celebrity ships.
We met her on the Panama Canal cruise this past April. She is a wonderful person.

For good basic information try Cruise Vacations for Dummies. Got it before our first cruise and found it really helpful.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but what I am looking for is a novel with cruising in it. Like the story being featured on the Cruise Mates home page. A romance novel or adventure story. Not an information book on cruising. Thanks

Hi Sammy...There is a really good novel that takes place on a cruise to Alaska is called "Birds of Prey? by J. A. Jance. It has some suspense, adventure, humor and very interesting characters. You'll feel like you are on the ship with them. It is fast reading and very enjoyable. The book is in hard back form now, but I heard the paperback will be out in a few weeks.

Just thought of another good book that takes place on a Caribbean cruise. It is "Cruising for Murder" by Susan Sussman. It is a mystery, and the heroine is a dancer on the ship. The story is entertaining and gives a terrific view of what goes on 'behind the scenes' on a cruise ship.
