Precruise Hotel Barcelona and Open Jaw Air

These questions are being posed in the context of the Constelaation transat sailing leaving Barcelona on 10/25.

Hotel Granvia or Hotel Continental? Any experience here? Other suggestions in the Ramblas area? Travel and Leisure/Fodor both suggest the former. Frommer suggests the latter.

Are there cheaper ways to to air IAD-BCN and FLL-DCA that waht Celebrity is offering at 799? What risks are involved with the alternatives?
