We are booked on a westbound transatlantic cruise departing out of Barcelona in late October for a 14 day southern atlantic crossing and arriving in Ft. Lauderdale . Can you provide me with some information as to what we can expect in regards to weather and sea conditions. Should we be concerned about hurricane season in the caribbean at that time.
I have been on two cruises in October that had hurricanes, but both times it was early October, as you get toward the end of Oct it becomes less and less likely. I wouldn't hesitate to sail in late Oct.(we are doing the transatlantic(Englnd to Boston) in early sept......much more likely to have hurricane then.
We travelled east bound in October 2001 and west bound in November. on the Seabourn Sun (38,000 tons). We had a couple of bad days (rough seas) in October. The sea was never flat but, both crossings were great. I hope you enjoy your trip.
