Default Kuala Lumper & Ho Chi Minh City

We are booked on the Regal Princess doing Far East & Australia there are a few ports of call like Kuala Lumper where we dock at Port Kelang, and Ho Chi Minh City where we dock at Phu My, what i am trying to find out is must you take the ship tours to get from the ship to KL or Ho Chi Minh and what is the distance from ship to city or can you go it alone i.e taxi, bus train etc any suggestions or information would be much appreciated.
Debbie

Hi, Debbie ...

I've never been to KL on a cruise ship, but have been to Saigon.

I don't know the port you mention for Saigon, we docked right "downtown" but it was a very small ship (Song of Flower).

We did take off on our own in the city, no problem ... but I wouldn't attempt going any further.

Check my website http://happysails.com for a Viet Nam story.
