Default Cruising with a toddler

I am considering traveling on Carnival's Holiday with a two year old. Would like some information on the decks and railing. Very concerned that the toddler might fall overboard. What types of safegaurds are there?

The railing tops a solid barrier. Your two year old won't fall overboard. Now,, drunken adults are a different story.
