I will always purchase travel insurance, but I have just realized that it makes a difference WHEN I purchase it.
In the past I have purchased the insurace when I make my final payment 60-75 days before the cruise. We don't have any pre-existing conditions, so are there any other reasons for purchasing insurance when I pay the deposit rather than when I make the final payment.
Thanks Barbara, but if you put down a deposit 10 months before the cruise and you can cancel with full refund right up until you make the final payment 60-90 days before the cruise, why buy the insurance with the deposit.
I think the answer is something to do with preconditions 60 days prior to paying for the insurance.
Any more insights anyone?
The problem in most cases is indeed the Pre Existing Condition. It think, the only thing to consider if you have none, is if there is someone else in the family, or a business partner perhaps, or anyone else who's ill health or death might force you cancel your trip, who DOES have pre existing conditions.
If so the same exclusions apply.
