Default trouble with search function

Is it just me or are these search engines not functioning properly? When I use the option "exact phrase", it doesn't return any hits. This has happened many times, yet I know there's hits.

Here's an example.
I tried doing a search of the exact phrase "room service". I selected only the Celebrity Forum, 180 days and checked the subject and message bodies boxes. There's no error message and no hits. Then as I was scanning through some other Celebrity posts I found one that had the exact phrase "room service" and it was dated 6/28/02. Less than 180 days ago. Then I tried doing a search on the word "service" with all the same options selected and no hits. But if I search on "service" and change the "exact phrase" option to "all words". It works.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong or if there's a malfunction? Just something that's been bugging me.

Hello Marnie,

Same problem here. Have to use "all words" to do the search, must be a glitch of some sort.

Never think you're going crazy when a computer program doesn't seem to work. They're often designed by intelligent-only-by-programming-standards dimwits who don't understand what we normal people need, and sent to the market by CEOs who've never really tested their own products, allowing them to flourish, even with the bugs.
