Default luggage

We are planning to use a 26 inch rolling pullman that is 12 inches deep. Does anyone know the height of the beds? We would like to be able to store this suitcase under the bed. (Our next cruise will be on Carnival Spirit)

Hi DonPat,
If your suitcase is too wide to fit under the bed, just let the cabin attendant store it for you, they will be happy to.

Donna:

What are you doing answering questions from Alaska? Aren't you supposed to be enjoying the cruise????

A 26 incher (mine) will fit. A 30 incher (hers) won't.

The question is not how WIDE -- it's how DEEP! In other words, how high off the floor are the beds?

Like I said, a 26" suitcase will slide under, a 30" is too high and won't. Most beds seem higher than normal, probably for the storage space. Maybe someone out there has been down on their knees to measured it. I didn't.

The lift method is quite effective.

Now, HOW would I know that ???

Thanks to all for the good ideas. Our dilemma was that the standard 26" bags are 9" deep, while ours are 12"deep. We just bought them (Travelpro Flight2), and love them, but if they didn't work for cruises, we would just have to return them. The open-top won't help because the top zipper is sort of set in from the edge, but the lift idea is brilliant. I promise on our next cruise to measure the height of the bed (off the floor) and post it.

DonPat ....

That's one of the things to be loved about CruiseMates ... the lengths that people will go to in order to provide accurate information
