Can anyone please give me some info on the nursery on the disney magic? We are travelling with our 4 year old who I know will love the camp, but i need to know how the nursery is for our 2 year old. How are the staff, will they change diapers or beep us to do it (which is fine also)? How fast does it fill up? Is there a chance we won't have any couple time on this cruise? ( It happened to us on NCL, that is why we are booking Disney) Do they have structured activities for the toddlers or do they just sit there. Please give me any info you can. I was trying to find someone who used the facility but no one on the boards seem to write back. Plenty of people read it thogh. Thanks.
You will get a beeper. They will make you aware of what they think you should know and in the manner that you have asked to be kept informed.
Head straight for the nursery and club to sign in, it fills up quickly, especially the nursery. You will be amazed at the staff. They are dedicated professionals, not staff members doing double duty as baby sitters. The entire ship is built around children's activities.
The ship's major complaint is that kids are left behind after pick up dead line. Some parents come by in the middle of the night, hours after the nursery is supposed to close. I wasn't aware of an announcing system like most ships. Think they need one to get dumb ass parents, well never mind.
If you appreciate the Disney touch at the parks, you will love this ship.
thank you all so much. Don G, I really appreciate your advice. And I promise not to be a dumb ass parent. I'll be picking my kids up on time. Some people are so rude. I am so excited about our "Magical" Cruise.
P.S. I absolutely love the Disney parks.
Don, I will book my daughter into the nursery as soon as we board, but can I also book some time slots later. I mean we don't know what the ship itinerary is until the evening or the early morning when they hand it out. Also can I pack toys and snacks for her to use in the nursery? I really appreciate your help. We had a bad experience on NCL last year. They stopped their babysitting services a few months before we were sailing and no one informed us prior to our departure. My husband is an NYPD officer and this was after 9/11, I booked the trip so we could have some family time and some couple time. The couple time never happened. So I booked Disney this year figuring if anyone can do it right for kids it will be Disney. I hope I am right. If I think of anything else, I'll be sure to get back to you. You have been the most helpful. Thanks, Dayna
Sign up your 2 yr old at the Flounder's Reef Nursery between 1:30 and 3:30 embarkation day. Double check at the pursers desk when you enter the ship. It is first come so I'll bet there is a line before 1:30. You know Disney and lines. Charge is $6 per hour, two hour minimum.
Children's programs for three and up are organized and free.
