Default Packing Wine

Does anyone have any tips for packing a bottle of red wine in your luggage? It's our 24th anniversary and I wanted to bring a special bottle to have at dinner one night, but i obviously don't want red wine to get all over our clothes!

You can pack it as Mike says to protect it from the luggage gorillas. But I would pack it with my carry-on so it's in my control the whole time and not near my clothes.

Regards,
Thomas

Carry on the wine, do not pack it in your luggage! If you have ever seen how the luggage is handled I would not even feel safe with bubble wrap and ziplok bags. We always carry on wine, toiletries, cosmetics things that could burst, break during buggage handling.

Most cruise lines allow you to bring bottles of wine in your carry-on for a special occasion. Since it won't be out of your hands, you'll be better able to prevent breakage. Be aware that cruise lines sometimes charge a corkage fee if you want to drink your own bottle of wine in the dining room. It may be about $10. (Not sure on that.) If you want to drink it in your cabin, there's no fee, but don't forget to pack your corkscrew in your checked luggage!
Happy anniversary.

Cheers,
Michelle B.

We packed two bottles, separately, much as Mike recommends. But, we wrapped a bottle in bubble wrap, then put it in a ziploc bag, then put all that in another ziploc bag, and carried it on in our carryon. We packed the corkscrew in the checked luggage!
