I am traveling on the Sensation on Nov 11 and did not book the cruise until Oct 28, The TA says I will not receive my travel docs in time and will have to pick them up at the port. I am worried about what information I am missing since this is my first cruise. For example I did not know I had to deposit cash in a ship shore acct and would not have had it. Is there anything else I should know

In addition to what Mike said, be sure to tip the baggage handler at the pier about $1 per bag.
The information you'll need for your documents is your personal information and a person's name and address for a contact in case of an emergency. I hope you have a passport, if not make sure you have an original birth certificate with a RAISED seal. No copies unless they've been certified by the state with a RAISED seal.
