Default Paying for sign & sail with cash?

Hi Cruisemate Staff,

I will be going on a Carnival cruise this Saturday. I am a bit confused with the info. they sent me... It states that to register for sign & sail (credit during ship) you have to do so with a credit card or debit card. I do not have either. This cannot be done with cash????

Yes. You have to give them a deposit up front and if/when that is used up they contact you for more. The minimum amount of the initial deposit (I believe) is $100 or $200 depending on the length of the cruise. Have fun.

I might add that this is the minimum. Factor in tips for the cruise, tours, drinks, etc. and the amount can be quite a bit more. If you use up the amount you have on account you will not be able to buy anything else until more money has been added to the account.

Hi, New Yorker ...

Larry has it right.. You can deposit cash but when you run out of cash on account, you must deposit more.

and.... you must wait on line early the last day to settle up the account. It really pays to use a CC.
