I booked a cruise on the Century through Vacations To Go. Since it was a special deal the travel agent told me we wouldn't be assigned our room until we boarded the ship. Have any of you had this experience and if so, how did it turn out?
Sounds like you booked a cabin guarantee. You could be assigned a cabin a few weeks prior to the cruise, your travel agent can check and see if you have or not, but sometimes you will find out when you arrive at the pier. Here is a good article that explains booking this way:
I have a suggestion. Go to the Celebrity Website, and click on reservations. Then click on guest documentation. Enter you booking number and sailing date. Your information should be displayed. If a room has been assigned it will be displayed.
This would also be a great time to update/verify you personal information. The system works very well. If you do this well in advance of sailing you tickets will come with the personal information printed on them. It saves a lot of "writing" time.
You will love the Century. My wife and I sailed on her 11/23/02.
