Has cruise business been down? E.g., due to the economy (people having less vacation $ to spend) and the Norwalk virus incidents?
Just wondered if anyone's been tracking this. If it is down, that could be good for those of us who are able and willing to go. I'm a single cruiser so good deals can make the difference as far as going at all and not having to share w/a stranger.
(I am not a TA.) With so many ships in the same waters, it is very competitive. There are lots of great bargains out there. I often tell friends that singles have a disadvantage cruising due to the extra fees. I sure hope more opportunities arise for you to travel. I receive an email update from an agency that specializes in Single occupancy cruise specials as my son is single, too. Let me know if you would like their email address.
There are lots of good deals out there for February and March... for some of the reasons outlined above, but most ships are sailing full... or close to it, albeit at lower prices than the cruise lines might like. The Alaska season looks very strong, as does South America and Pacific destinations. The big "if" is Europe, and some itineraries and lines and ships are doing quite well, too.
