Default upgrades/rivera deck

I'm going on the Victory 1/25/04 with group from church. We booked trip 11/02. We are all on Rivera Deck, 65 people going. What are the chances of an upgrade? And how bad is the Rivera Deck? I've posted this question before but recieved no responds, please help. Most of the people are first time cruisers like myself. I've heard this level isn't good. What is the noise level and motion level this far down.

Thanks Pam M

Our last cruise was in May. We guaranteed a room and asked for the riviera. Which means that was the rooms we wanted to take unless we could get an upgrade to better. We were upgraded to Empress and it was great. But 2 yrs ago we went and Guaranteed Riviera and got the Riviera and it was just fine too. I never have a problem with noises or whatever. i just sleep like a baby on ship. It is my wonderful vacation and we all just enjoy. Char

If you're going with 65 other people, chances are good that you will be too busy or too tired to notice any movement at the bottom of the ship. I've been down there & didn't notice any difference one, two or even 3 levels up.

Go and have a good time. Don't worry about it. Most people don't spend much time in their cabin anyway.

I just booked another cruise on the Riviera with no hesitations. It's cheaper!

Happy sailing!

Quite honestly there is less movement noticable the lower you are on the ship. It is also usually more quite than other decks ex\cept when docking because they use the engines and thrusters for manouvering. The only disadvantage if you want to call it that is it is farther to go to the top decks where the pool and stuff is at. As a group it is nicer to be kept together I would think.

Thank you, Jim and all the staff. I am directing my friends at church to look at this web site to help answer their questions too.
