10 Days on Volendam VS. 14 Days on Noordam ?

I keep reading all of the reviews, but still can't decide between 2 Cruises with similar Southern Caribbean itineraries that I'm sure I would enjoy; so..........Can you please tell me both the advantages and/or disadvantages of choosing between " similar " 10 Day Cruises on Volendam VS. 14 Day Cruises on Noordam ?? Thanks

Advantage 4 more days, disadvantage 4 more days! Really it's up to you what you prefer, we can't answer that. I've never done more than 7 and as much as I love cruisin I don't know about doing more. How many sea days? What's the iten? Cost? You need to factor those all in to make an informed decision for you.

The issue, to me, is not the number of days. It would be hard to think of two more different ships than the Volendam and the Noordam. The latter is the oldest ship in HAL's fleet, by quite a margin. She's a lovely classic ship and if that's your taste (and she has a very loyal following) she's just fine. Volendam, on the other hand is one of HAL's newest... veranda cabins, large picture windows in her regular cabins as opposed to port holes and all the amenities associated with recent cruise ship design.
She is also significantly larger than the Noordam, for what that's worth.

Nushnakka..........My real " concern " is that I have read a number of e-mail & reviews which indicate that the Noordam has become replete with such problems as: Faulty Plumbing, No Air-Conditioning or Hot Water, torn carpeting, " Hot " Meals served " Cold " or " Spoiled ", Vibrations throughout the Ship, etc. The Cost is Great, the itinerary is Great ( 9 Ports in 14 Days ).........and I have no qualms about sailing on an " older ship "; BUT, .....If the conditions of the Noordam are really so deplorable; I don't think that any itinerary or price could make a Cruise enjoyable...so; my question is: Just HOW BAD a condition is the Noordam actually in ? ...Don
