Is anyone familiar with any of the cruise lines credit card reward programs? Is any one better than the others in terms of reward levels and such. Am considering a RCCL credit card. I run a lot of money through my current Northwest Airlines card. Get tons of FF miles, but am getting frustrated with not being able to book flights using the miles. Do the cruiselines restrict reward use by only allowing a few cabins per ship like the airlines do? Any experience here would be appreciated.
We had the Carnival card. I don't remember how it worked but in 2 years time we accumulated $800 cruise dollers. Since we had 2 cards with that much credit we booked 2 cabins and for 4 people it was $4000 but with the $1600 off, well you can do the math. The next time (last time we were able to use the cards) we had another $800 and we took the 3 day cruise for 3 and only paid $199. So if you use the card ALOT the savings potential is great. My husband used ours for his business expense but things happened and we lost the cards when we lost the business but I digress. Just check it out, find out how much you need to spend, how long it is good for (with ours after 2 years the unused dollars starting going away), etc.
What card? I send away for the Carnival charge card is that what you mean. But they told me there were certain stipulations as to when you could travel and use your points.
I just applied and received the RCCL card, so will have to start using it and see the benefits :-) I think its something brand new for Royal CAribbean.
Helene, at the time they did not have the stipulations for travel so I guess we were lucky since the 1st cruise we used it for was during spring break.
Donna, who is offering the RCCL card? Do you have the number so I can inquire about it.
