Default Tipping the porter????

I was wondering, where NCL has included $10 per day per person, do we tip the porter who takes our bags upon boarding? and if so how much? This board has been really helpful to me seeing this is our first time cruising. Found a ton of useful info. Thanks

Yes, you tip the porter $1 per bag. The $10 goes just to your room steward, waiter, assistant waiter and head waiter.

Hi Kitty,
We usually tip $2.00 per bag at the pier.

Yep, the porter is separate from the cruiseline charges.

Be sure to tip the porter. They are the only ones who ensure that your bags make it onto the ship safely. The only time you'll see the porter is when you hand your bags over at the pier, and that's the last time you'll see your bags until you're on the ship, too, so tipping him is a kind of insurance that they'll make it onboard in one piece.

I always hope that by tipping them, they will also handle your bags a little more carefully than if you don't. I can dream can't I?
