We are expecting to do some of the shore excursions in Orlando, Miami, Bahamas. I see the shore excursions involve coach bus transfers. Should we anticipate and bring a car seat for our 11-month old and can we leave the car seat in the bus until we get picked up. We are investigating buying a car seat that hooks to a stroller, but don't want to make the expense if not necessary.
Having done buses with a 15 month old, yes bring the car seat on and also bring bungee cords to attach around seat This doesn.t take long. Definately bring yours from home. We bring car seat and stroller with us when we travel. It provides a comfort level for your little one and is familiar. On board your cabin steward will finda spot to keep the car seat. Ours went in a closet next to our cabin that they kept oversize things in. Also, most strollers will fold so it will fit either under the bed or in the closet. Also, unless you feel like dragging one, request a portacrib. one less thing to bring and it will be set up for you. One more thing, when our youngest was still in diapers, our room steward always made sure there were plenty of plastic bags in our cabin and it never smelled from diapers. He had a second sense as to when we were in the cabin and when we left. The last cruise we did our youngest was 4 and he still uses a stroller. it also doubles as a shopping cart. You will be the envy of a lot of shoppers. Back to your question about the bus, yes you can leave it on the bus. Feel free to email me if you have any more questions, its a great experience
I know that a bungee cord is not safe but when a bus does NOT!!!!! HAVE SEAT BELTS IT IS A WAY OF SECURING THE SEAT INSTEAD OF TRYING TO HOLD ON TO A LITTLE ONE. iF THE BUS STOPS SHORT AND YOU ARE HOLDING THEM THEY WILL GO FLYING. Sorry, this is a pet peeve of mine. Buses should all have seat belts. Use the bungee cord as you would a sealt belt, place the cord through the same openings that you would slide the belt through and attach as tight as possible . We found this to work.
