How many cabins do you need to book with Carnival to get a group discount?

Eight. And you get one cabin (two adult fares) free, I believe. This was the policy I was told on our group cruise.

It depends on the deal you worked out with yout TA. Standard is that you get a free fare only, (not including non-commissionable fees) if you book eight cabins.

Eight is sort of the standard # that's pretty basic. However, there are exceptions. On some sailings, the cruise lines will reduce the # of cabins necessary to earn tour conductors berths. I've seen it where as few as 5 cabins qualified. I've also heard cases, on perhaps more popular (better selling) cruises, where 10 was the magic number.
