This is me and my husband's first cruise. We are flying into LAX around 11:00 a.m. and need to get to the port of Los Angeles for a cruise to Mexico the same day we fly in. Can someone please give me advice on the best way to get to the port from the airport? Thanks so much!
Make some phone calls to the local taxi companies. Do an internet search under "los angeles taxi company" and see what comes up. Then just call the company to find their rates. My wife and I took a cruise out of Tampa earlier this year, and although a taxi ride was only $20, I checked (on a whim) on limo service. It was only $65. We opted for the limo which was pretty cool. You might want to do the same, you never know!

Re: LAX to port of L.A.
You can either use a cruise ship transfer (ask your TA), or you can hire a taxi, lim oor town car, or (what our group of four did) was get a shared ride van. No reservation needed. Go to the outer curb at the arrival terminal and see the people out there. They will get your information and call a van - ours arrived in less than 15 minutes and we did share it with a woman and two of her children who were coming home from the Orient and then we went on to San Pedro to our hotel. We paid (I believe) $15 per person.
You can also check out websites like www.supershuttle.com adn the LAX website has lots of information about ground transportation.
