Dorothy,

I have replied to the same question in the Carnival thread. You have a space between the left bracket "[" and the string "img". Remove the space.

After the string "GMT-0500", add this "f[/img]" .

If you still cannot get it, email me.

Oh no, the server changed what I wanted to type. Dorothy, ignore my 2nd paragraph in the previous post.

You need to add the end delimiter "/img" surrounded by brackets. Please do the following exactly:

1. Add to the string "GMT-0500", this string "[REMOVE/img]"
2. delete the word "REMOVE" only

I thought I would post my step-by-step instructions on how to make a clock since the ones in this thread are not quite sufficient.

Here's how to make the countdown clock.

- The first thing you have to do is be a registered member of CruiseMates. At the top of this thread, you should see a link titled "Log In." Click on the link and then click on "Need a Login? Register here."

- Select a user name and password.

- If you are already a registered member, when you are logged in, look at any message thread; at the bottom you'll see a link titled "My Profile." Click it, then click "Edit Profile."

Now both users creating a new registration and previously-registered users should be looking at a number of blank fields, including one titled "Signature."

- In the big blank area titled "Signature," copy-and-paste the following:

[img[img][/img]]http://escati.linkopp.net/cgi-bin/countdown.cgi?trgb=000000&prgb=191970&cdt=2004;03; 18;16;00;00&timezone=GMT-0500f[/img[img][/img]]
Carnival Fantasy

- Where it says 2004;03;18; replace the numbers with the year;month;day of your upcoming cruise.

- Where it says Carnival Fantasy, replace the ship's name with the ship's name for the cruise you're currently counting down to.

- Click the "Register" button if you are creating a registration, or the "Update Profile" button if you are already a registered member, and you should be good to go!

Keep posting if you need help.
Cheers,
Michelle B.

OK Michelle,
How do you post the img string without the server converting it to the html "<img" tag? I have been trying to figure this out to post the count down clock string for people to copy and paste. How? How? How?

Hmmm, I don't have a problem with the server converting the img tag to HTML. I just left-click and drag over the code:

[img[img][/img]]http://escati.linkopp.net/cgi-bin/countdown.cgi?trgb=000000&prgb=191970&cdt=2004;03; 18;16;00;00&timezone=GMT-0500f[/img[img][/img]]
Carnival Fantasy

and drag the mouse until it's all blue (i.e. selected.) Then right-click, select "copy," in your signature space right-click and select "paste," and it should show up exactly as you've copied it. Then click "Update Profile" and it should show up.

If you just copy-and-paste like that it shouldn't show up as HTML (i.e., with <> brackets instead of [ ] brackets) and you shouldn't have to change anything.

Cheers,
Michelle B.
