I will be sailing PG for the first time next May. I have met a couple of dozen folks that have taken the cruise. Without exception, they all recommend pre- vs post-cruise. In fact, most of them recommend a back to back on the PG rather than either pre- or post-cruise. The reason is that the service, food, and amenities are higher on the PG than any shoreside property. Therefore, a land portiong post-cruise becomes a bit of a let down.
We were originally scheduled for back to back. However, due to shortage of vacation time, we are going to do a two day precruise and a one week sailing. We are probably going to do an OWB at the Beachcomber on Tahiti. Decided not to go through time and cost of going to one of the other islands as this is our first of we hope many trips to French Polynesia.
If you are still looking at dates, there are about 40 of us going on 21 May 05 sailing.
