Does everybody have to pay for tranfers from the ship to the airport? There are 10 adults in our group and two kids. I understand that the adults pay per person, but do the 5 and the 2 year kid also have to pay for a transfer??
If you purchase your air fare through the cruise line, transfers are automatically included for each person. If you buy your own flights, you will be responsible for your airport to pier and return transportation. You can take a taxi, buy transfers for Each person including children, or make other arrangements. Last time we bought a transfer from the pier only, it was $15 per person. This wasn't too bad as we were traveling from Port Canaveral to Orlando which is about 50 minute drive. If there are just 4 of you a taxi would be the most economical generally. Sometimes in some port cities, there are taxi van's too like San Juan. For New Orleans, I just reserved their Airport shuttle at $24 per person round trip. Taxi's would run about $30 per trip. They will take us to the hotel for the precruise stay then pick up up at the port to return to the airport after the cruise. We will take a taxi to the port on the day of embarkation.
We're flying to MIA and getting on the hotel shuttle to the hotel. The next day we're thinking of getting cabs (theres 10 of us), it'll still be cheaper than $20 a person. We've already purchased transfers for when we return from the port to the airport ($20 each). We just thought that $20 for a 2 year old is a bit much, but then again we've had to pay adult fares (cruise and flight) for her already so what's another $20, right?
